Qualifications/Requirements

  • Two years progressive manufacturing experience in non-destructive testing

  • High School Graduate

Essential Responsibilities

  • Complies with and supports all GE policies and GE Aviation procedures as listed in the site handbook or other company or functional related documents

  • Review routers, procedures, specification, and other instructions for completeness and instructions to perform operations

  • Process part(s) in accordance with procedures and technical instructions utilizing penetrant materials (FPI) equipment and fixturing to evaluate for weld, braze and/or casting discontinuities.

  • Set up, operate, calibrate and perform Process Control Checks on NDE equipment by following established instructions and record results.

  • Interpret, evaluate and report evaluation results as required and outlined. Clean 1 – FPI, remove and re-cap part(s) after process and evaluation of part(s).

  • Fill out required logs and statistical data sheets (as required). Clean equipment and ensure it’s working properly. Clean and maintain work area as needed.

  • Maintain required job skills and knowledge of requirements (including procedures, specifications, etc.)

Desired Characteristics

  • NDT Theory knowledge

  • Able to utilize measuring devices including micrometers, scales and calipers

  • Successfully pass vision screen

  • Produces error free products

  • Accurately completes paperwork

  • History of working effectively with co-workers, managers and other employees in a team environment

  • Willing to cross train in other NDT methods

  • Available to work scheduled hours and, as needed, available to work extended or flexible schedule on short notice

  • Able to work under general direction with minimal supervision

  • Able to lift up to approximately 25 pounds. May occasionally lift 50 pounds (with assistance)

  • Random drug testing (for those working in NDT operations)

  • Excellent attendance and punctuality history

  • Makes decisions based on experience and available data

  • History of meeting or exceeding job requirements

  • History of accepting and giving constructive criticism

  • Positive attitude and ambition to excel/advance in skills and knowledge

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
