General Electric Lead Engineer - Systems Integration in Dayton, Ohio

Role Summary:

The Lead Systems Integration Engineer will be the lead engineer focal with a responsibility of the integration management and execution of the electrical power system.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Lead Systems Engineer / Integration, you will utilize your power electronics, power generation or distribution experience to work with the different mechanical, electrical and Software groups on the integration of all the corresponding electrical power components in the systems lab.

In addition, you will:

  • Manage and execute the integration of the Power Systems components in the Integration lab, in co-operation with the systems suppliers

  • Own the verification matrix

  • Work directly with the customer on integration status and issues

  • Utilize your power electronics, power generation or distribution expertise to work with the stakeholders on identifying and resolving lab problems

  • Support the development of the systems test environment

  • Lead development of system integration plans

  • Lead system integration execution, problems analysis and reporting

  • Work with verification and validation engineers on developing and releasing test reports to customers

  • Develop and execute objectives for yourself and others; have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals

  • Maintain scope baseline

  • Work with both real-time and non-real-time systems, such as hardware-in-the-loop and computer-in-the-loop simulations and be able to distribute thesesimulations

  • Document the results of analyses and studies in technical reports

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Controls, Power Electronics or Systems Engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a related systems Engineering discipline

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, and work well in a team environment

  • Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering from an accredited college or university

  • Aviation systems Engineering experienceKnowledge of ARP4754A, ARP4761

  • Power Systems Integration in the lab in co-operation with multiple systems providers

  • Experience in creating and performing system integration tests

  • Hands on experience of systems design lifecycle within aerospace or similar industry

  • Experience with system modeling and simulation

  • An understanding of embedded software

  • Software development skills using C / C++, Python, or PERL

  • Strong problem solving ability

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Requirements Management experience using DOORS, plus experience using change and configuration management processes / tools

  • Use of system design and modeling tools, e.g. : MATLAB / Simulink, SCADE

  • Ability to work with cross functional teams in a global environment
