General Electric Lead EHS Fixed Facilities Specialist in Dayton, Ohio

Job Description Summary

The Lead EHS Fixed Facilities Specialist will provide environmental, health, and safety (EHS) support to our Dayton, Ohio facilities. Within the role, you will apply your EHS knowledge and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for yourself and others, and achieve short-term and long-term business goals.

Job Description

Primary job function is to drive EHS excellence across Dayton facilities. This includes:

  • Provide day-to-day EHS support for all shifts

  • Work together with business leadership to drive outcomes

  • Initiate and influence integration of EHS policies and practices into operations

  • Develop and maintain general knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements

  • Develop and maintain EHS programs and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations

  • Drive closure of corrective actions based on root-cause investigations

  • Execute on regulatory environmental reporting requirements

  • Manage environmental and safety programs

  • Coordinate with consultants and contractors on EHS-related items

  • Manage internal compliance tracking and record keeping systems

  • Work cross-functionally to identify and address safety and health issues related to site operations

  • Lead training strategy, provide training materials, and identify improvement opportunities

  • Assist with accident investigations and analyze root causes to determine and implement safety measures which prevent future incidents

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety)

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with environmental, health and safety guidelines

  • Ability to prepare accurate reports as it relates to permit requirements

  • Willingness to learn and perform a variety of duties with time-sensitive deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
