Job Description Summary

This position is for a Manufacturing Engineering co-op role within Dayton Cores & Castings cores engineering team. This role will support the cores engineering team to industrialize & optimize new technology as well as improve product costs & manufacturing efficiencies. In this role you will collaborate very closely with and support Product & Process Owners within the cores engineering team on critical projects that align with business objectives.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering experiments (DOE) to evaluate influence and interactions of process variables/parameters with respect to product yield performance

  • Completion of one shop floor improvement project with focus on lean principles (waste elimination)

  • Support technical problem solving of complex yield challenges with data analysis, root cause investigation, and countermeasure development

  • Lead projects to improve manufacturing efficiencies through close collaboration with Process Owners

  • Perform hands-on trials within manufacturing process to drive increased understanding of process variation and necessary controls

  • Clearly document enhanced process standards into Manufacturing Operation Sheets, based upon project/experiment results
