Job Description Summary
An integral part of the GE Power Conversion (GE PC) organization, the Marine Senior Sales Leader will be responsible for the generation and conversion of opportunities covering the entire GE Power Conversion marine portfolio, focused on marine power, electric propulsion and control systems for government contracts. This strategic position will be focused on US Navy, Military Sealift Command, US Coast Guard, Royal Navy and allies procuring marine vessels with direct customer relationships with government entities, shipyards, naval architects and end users
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Lead GE PC marine sales strategy and be the single point of contact for the US Navy in GE PC’s America’s market
Accountable for the quarterly and annual operational plan targets (orders, margin and down payments) for the America’s region
Strategic focus includes new test facility programs, new ship programs and a step growth in services.
Connect resource sponsors (Department of Defense), Legislative branch (US house/senate appropriations) NAVSEA/NAVAIR/NAVFAC commands and Government affairs capability
Establish and maintain executive level relationships with key customers and industry partners
Influence Government procurement, budget and timeline cycle for potential future orders
Understand technology drivers within shipbuilding and R&D to influence GE future offerings
Coordinate with the respective quoting and business teams to structure winning proposals
Manage the marine sales team and develop direct reports in line with GE’s leadership behaviors, driving engagement and accountability
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Related field from an accredited university
Minimum of 5 years working knowledge of electrical propulsion, power and control systems
Minimum of 5 years of commercial marine experience
Minimum of 5 years leading team in a People Leader capacity
Preferred Qualifications
Sales experience, ideally with Medium Voltage motors, drives, rotating machines and/or automation systems
Demonstrated inclusive behavior with success in leading or working in a matrix organization
Demonstrated clear thinking with effective communication at all levels
Strong influencing skills
Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly to customer needs
Commissioned officer rank in the U.S. Navy
Strong record of coaching and developing teams
Proven successful experience as People Leader of complex organizations
