General Electric QC Micro Project Analyst (fixed term contract) in Cork, Ireland

Job Description Summary

As a Quality Specialist, you will have the responsibility of providing quality

control support to an ongoing project to introduce new technologies to the Microbiology lab.

Job Description


  • Providing QC support to the Microbiology Project lead in the installation and qualification of a new Rapid ID system and rapid Bioburden technique.

  • Qualification of new equipment to current GAMP standards and in line with local procedures.

  • Authoring and review of associated validation documentation including validation Plan, URS, RTM, protocols and reports.

  • Authoring/ revision of SOP’s for new instrumentation and test methods.

  • Assist in the training and up skilling of colleagues in relation to the new technologies introduced.

  • Participation in method validation/development activities.

  • Ensuring compliance with cGMP , EHS, GxP etc guidelines at all times.

  • To develop areas of expertise in analytical testing in order to solve technical issues

  • To develop expertise in new technology to solve technical issues.

  • Planning and resourcing in line with the overall project plan

  • Ensure compliance with current pharmacopoeia and all regulatory/company guidelines.

  • Interaction with other departments and vendors e.g. IT, Facilities and QA.

  • Keep colleagues informed of current issues and developments as appropriate

  • Liaising with other departments and external vendors in relation to QC/BU issues

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree qualified (Or equivalent) in Science along with significant work experience.

  • Good communications skills, excellent time management skills, flexibility and agility will be required. Proven ability to work on own initiative.

  • Significant pharmaceutical experience in a GMP regulated laboratory environment. Experience in method validation and equipment qualification would be a distinct advantage.
