Job Description Summary
As the Operations Support Leader, you will have a key role to play in the successful management of the Packaging Platform. You will have the opportunity to lead, inspire and motivate the packaging team. While also collaborating with cross functional departments to deliver to the highest standards of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
To do well in the role, you must have a combination of people skills, technical knowledge, an eye for detail and great organisational skills, you will need to have a high “say do ratio” as well as the ability to process and analyse data to support business decisions. You will need to be driven in the pursuit of delivery across all of the platform’s metrics.
The Operations Support Leader, Packaging will work with the platform teams in the delivery of key performance indicators across the pillars of safety, quality, people, delivery and cost.
The Operations Support Leader will build a network across the Packaging platform and Supply Chain, have a patient focus, and drive continuous improvement through Kaizen and projects. An individual contributor role, influencing, motivating and coaching are all skills that will be required on a daily basis.
Support the People Team Leaders (PTL) to deliver the shift performance
build prosperous working relationships with team members in your area, in other functional support groups and extended teams
work cross-functionally and cross-shifts to resolve people and process issues with Problem-Solving tools
work across shifts to coordinate attendance management
develop and support team advancement and growth strategies
foster a collaborative “one team” culture
deliver the Packaging Platform metrics. Leading the PTLS to deliver shift performance
support the compliance leader and team to deliver on all metrics
identify, and implement improvements for efficient quality batch release
support 7S, housekeeping audits and reviews
participate in the selection and recruitment of shift team members at the appropriate level
lead the PTLs in the generation and delivery of business communications
be active and constructive in meetings. Ensure required level of service and responsiveness to issues from support departments
continue to drive improvement in conjunction with the Lean team
Support the site Kaizen process, the continuous Improvement suggestions campaign for ideas and suggestions from the teams
Qualifications and experience
Professional degree level qualification required or equivalent experience
Operations management experience in a pharmaceutical environment
Clear thinker who can analyse data to establish a direction to proceed
Strong IT, data analysis and presentation skills
Experience of leading matrix teams in a fast paced and complex environment
Dynamic decision maker, effective planner, and communicator
Experience in developing a strong working relationship with others
Self-starter with good motivational, decision making, planning, problem solving, innovative and communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels across multiple functions of the organisation
Excellent communication skills both written and oral
A good level of English and a valid work permit
