General Electric Automation Manager in Cork, Ireland

Job Description Summary

In Cork, we manufacture and distribute X-ray and MRI contrast media for customers worldwide. As part of our journey to achieve our 2024 site vision, of being a 50m to 60m unit (vials) capacity site, this role is key to drive the necessary infrastructure transformations and simplifications required to make this happen. The role reports to the Process & Technology Manager.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage the site automation team (up to 22) and work as a partner with the Engineering, Production, Quality, Packaging, Lean teams to develop the optimum automation solutions

  • Manage the day to day managed service contract to ensure best in class service to the production, packaging and utilities platforms onsite

  • Develop the automation strategy for this site

  • Set up processes and systems to ensure rapid response and resolution of site issues while also setting up leading and lagging indicators and KPIs for the team

  • Project Manage automation projects.

Qualifications/Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Automation, Mechanical, or Bio Engineering or other relevant discipline or equivalent knowledge/experience

  • Significant experience in Process Control, Technical Project Management or Automation in Pharma, Lifesciences or Chemical industry

  • Experienced people manager

  • Experience with DCS Automation Systems, ITOT networks, Data Integrity, Validation and Control Systems

  • Must be a detail-oriented and team-focused person with good project management and coordination skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels
