Role Summary:

The Solar NAM (North America) Commercial Leader for Power Conversion’s Solar Segment is responsible for leading sales strategy and driving sales expertise in Solar to support NAM capabilities and skills. In this role, you will be accountable for driving orders, as sold margin and convertibility.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Solar NAM Commercial Leader, you will:

  • Develop / support global Solar strategy

  • Build the right Center of Expertise in NAM for the Solar Segment

  • Support the NAM region to ensure right level of answer is given to the customer in deal structuring, pricing, and all other proposal development activities

  • Support recruitment, training, and ensure correct level of expertise required in NAM region

  • Act as Center of Excellence for sales solar in full coordination with NAM region and NAM Product leadership organization

  • Develop, with Product leadership organization, the vision and path for Growth for Solar in NAM

  • Lead sales / com-ops and sales AE for NAM Solar Segment, and drive team work across Segment and NAM region


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experienced global leader, having led a Global Sales activity and/or Global P&L

  • Knowledge of electrical systems, power electronics, power management and automation systems

  • Knowledge in project finance, recourse and non-recourse, and other Solar financial models

  • Knowledge in Solar performance guarantees, DLPs, and supplier warranty practice

  • Familiarity with Solar software for energy yields and appreciation of IRR and NPV evaluations versus yield assumptions

  • Knowledge of Solar project development, connection agreements, Energy licenses, SPV project structures and PPAs

  • Demonstrated experience in complex project execution and technical leadership

  • Understanding of Digital techniques, such as machine learning and AI, and a view on how they could be applied to the Solar application

  • Appreciation of Solar equipment, turnkey electrical scope, and EPC activities

  • Experience in solving issues related to new products

  • Familiarity with New Product Development (NPI) process, Lean Principles, and management methodologies

  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary global teams with multiple interfaces in a matrix organization

  • Significant managerial experience with special emphasis in the engineering of large size and/or complex projects

  • Strong coaching experience and success in working across the business functions

  • Solid business acumen and customer mindset

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to energize teams and drive change
