Role Summary:

The Sr Software Engineer - Connected Homes will primarily be designing, developing, and deploying third party integrations for the C by GE brand of smart lights. These integrations enable extended functionality of the C by GE line, and the software you create will be customer facing. Experience in leading a small team of engineers is necessary, as you will function as one of the technical leads for the integrations projects.

  • Internal tool development

  • 3rd party cloud API library

  • Data science tools

  • Software engineering SME

  • Technical expert on CH team

  • Mentorship and guidance to CH digital team members

  • Designing / developing internal tools

  • Prototyping / testing new device functionality

  • Acting as a subject matter expert in the field of software engineering for the GE Lighting Connected Home team Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from an accredited university or college

  • 5 years of experience: software development, java script (Including DEvOps experience; Experience working with a hardware team; Agile development experience; Technical leadership experience; Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy communication) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :

  • 25% required domestic travel

  • Languages

  • Go: Connected Homes Digital is primarily a Go shop. Most internal tools are written in Go, and most new projects, where applicable, will use Go

  • JavaScript: Major 3rd party integrations are written in Javascript, both in a browser context and in Node

  • Python: Some internal tools are written in Python. Most relevant to this role is using bluepy, a Python implementation of bluez, develop BLE tools
