General Electric Global Leader of eCommerce - Consumer Products in Cleveland, Ohio

Role Summary:This position reports to the COO. The Global Leader of eCommerce is responsible for directing all eCommerce efforts, through strong digital marketing and strategic execution. This newly created role will be instrumental in providing a clear Go-To-Market strategy on increasing GE Lighting’s presence and conversion on all channel partner websites, by defining targeted goals and creating structured digital strategies for success.

Essential Responsibilities:GE Lighting is the most recommended, most trusted, and most likely to purchase consumer lighting brand in North America. As part of a robust lighting portfolio, we bring innovation to the lamp space and we’re now extending beyond the bulb to launch exciting new smart home innovations.

Nearly half of smart home purchases occur online. As we build out a comprehensive smart home ecosystem, we’re looking for an ecommerce leader who can enhance our digital presence in search and on retailer websites to capture early adopters and drive mass adoption. As a subject matter expert, you will engage interest in having a conversation about accelerating our sales at some of the largest retailers in the U.S.

You will build solutions, features, and applications from existing ideas and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experiences and your contact with customers and prospects.

You must possess a unique blend of strategic business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. This is a highly visible position, impacting the business strategically and operationally. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand the retailer’s and consumer’s problems and find innovative solutions for our Go-To-Market strategy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Partners with Chief Marketing Officer and to create annual and long-term business strategies and revenue plans for all eCommerce efforts.

  • Collaboration with cross functional partners to manage all aspects of the eCommerce to include business planning, content strategy and development of promotional campaigns and all online marketing and web design.

  • Oversight of scheduling, coordination, and execution of all online publishing for website and related eCommerce marketing and merchandising campaign and associated content.

  • Provide accurate forecasting of eCommerce initiatives to Executive Team

  • Develop commercial playbooks for eCommerce in areas including: Product assortment, search, product content, promotions and translate those actions across platforms.

  • Identify, select and deploy tools, technologies and capabilities that enable performance


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline strongly preferred. Advance degree desired but not required.

  • 7-10 years in an online, B2C eCommerce environment: P&L accountability

  • 7-10 years eCommerce domain experience in digital commerce

  • Demonstrated success in driving online sales through integrated content, focused search and creative marketing and promotional activity.

  • Proven experience to develop/implement a successful eCommerce strategy

  • Strong data analytical skills, experience to utilize data in planning and decision
