Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer to support Artificial Lift in Claremore, OK. The Engineer in this role leads critical conversations between Product Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure new, world-class products are easily manufactured, inspected, assembled, tested, distributed and maintained throughout our worldwide field organization. The Engineer meaningfully impacts the cost, reliability and distribution of new products that serve our most demanding customers and will remain a part of our product portfolio for decades.
Facilitate meetings between design engineers and manufacturing engineers, buyers and shop-floor technicians to review and improve mechanical and electrical designs
Prepare and sometimes present PowerPoint and Excel reports to the top management of Engineering, Supply Chain and Marketing that summarize the favorable impact of improved designs.
Lead the effort to transfer manufacturing, assembly and test technologies between our world-wide locations.
Work with Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering to implement automation, robotics, digital and other advanced manufacturing techniques.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably mechanical or industrial engineering)
Ability to quantify your plans and results in terms of reduced costs, improved efficiencies, improved reliability, etc.
Demonstrated ability to summarize your results with excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to travel (less than 5%) mostly within the U.S. but some international; ability to conference call world-wide locations at times other than your core-work hours
1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering role or similar experience in an intern/project-related role
Course work or experience in Lean Six Sigma, 5-S and/or Kaizen events
Ability to use 3-D engineering modeling software for design, drafting and analysis
Ability to use gantt-chart program to plan and track project tasks
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and respond positively to schedule changes outside your control.
