Job Description Summary

Ownership of Supplier Relationship and Supplier On Time Delivery. Understand the manufacturing process and customer need while utilizing operational data & commercial awareness to proactively drive supplier execution of on time delivery. Execute value stream management (total WIP health & sub-tier management) in partnership with suppliers to meet customer needs, eliminate constraints, and increase productivity.

Gains an in depth understanding of customer needs through interactions with clients across the GE organization; listens well and asks probing questions to obtain voice of customer; conducts research, collects data, and can analyze information to define and prioritize customer needs and uses this information to drive supplier partnerships.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develops relationships and partnerships with suppliers to promote shared accountability and success.

  • Owns key performance indicators (KPI) of OTD and DQ reduction for multiple large and medium suppliers and product lines.

  • Executes on commercial and delivery strategy. Understands and prioritizes KPI's and drives supplier actions.

  • Recognizes (safety, quality, delivery, commercial, compliance) risks and opportunities at supplier via communication rhythms and supplier visits to assess impact to GE

  • ​​Influences suppliers through strong relationships

  • Employs knowledge of manufacturing processes to eliminate specific constraints (operational & systemic)

  • Leverages understanding of production control to close operational gaps with owned suppliers

  • Partners withcross functional teams when additional expertise is needed. Works effectively across delivery teams for multisource parts

  • Aware of unique needs by product line/customer and accommodates by establishing a proactive operational rhythm. improvement projects and program plans to improve part number performance

  • Understands impact of T’s & C’s on delivery

  • Manages priority management across customers to satisfy requirements/demands

  • Builds rapport and trust with customer (internal/external) through transparent communications, both good and bad

  • Aggregates information and is the single voice of messaging to the customer

  • Knowledgeable of appropriate change requirement processes (e.g. PCB, Source Change Tool, Engineering Tollgates, Deal Review, etc.)

  • Responds to scope changes and schedule slips; Understands the impact and solves basic problems

  • Communicates status and deviations of change management projects to stakeholders

  • Ability to use Lean tools within role. Understands the type of data needed for visual management of processes and issues. Utilizes Lean tenants & tools to identify and eliminate waste in a process.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or institution (OR a High school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years experience in Materials, Sourcing, Fulfillment, Manufacturing, Quality or Supply Chain role)

  • A minimum of 3 years in Materials, Sourcing, Fulfillment, Manufacturing, Quality or Supply Chain role
