Job Description Summary
Ownership of Supplier Relationship and Supplier On Time Delivery. Understand the manufacturing process and customer need while utilizing operational data & commercial awareness to proactively drive supplier execution of on time delivery. Execute value stream management (total WIP health & sub-tier management) in partnership with suppliers to meet customer needs, eliminate constraints, and increase productivity.
Gains an in depth understanding of customer needs through interactions with clients across the GE organization; listens well and asks probing questions to obtain voice of customer; conducts research, collects data, and can analyze information to define and prioritize customer needs and uses this information to drive supplier partnerships.
Roles & Responsiblities
Develops relationships and partnerships with suppliers to promote shared accountability and success.
Owns key performance indicators (KPI) of OTD and DQ reduction for multiple large and medium suppliers and product lines.
Recognizes (safety, quality, delivery, commercial, compliance) risks and opportunities at supplier via communication rhythms and supplier visits to assess impact to GE
Influences suppliers through strong relationships
Employs knowledge of manufacturing processes to eliminate constraints
Partners with cross functional teams when additional expertise is needed.
Aware of unique needs by product line/customer and accommodates by establishing a proactive operational rhythm. improvement projects and program plans to improve part number performance
Understands impact of T’s & C’s on delivery
Manages priority management across customers to satisfy requirements/demands
Builds rapport and trust with customer (internal/external) through transparent communications, both good and bad
Knowledgeable of appropriate change requirement processes (e.g. PCB, Source Change Tool, Engineering Tollgates, Deal Review, etc.)
Responds to scope changes and schedule slips; Understands the impact and solves problems
Communicates status and deviations of source change or NPI projects to stakeholders
Ability to use Lean tools within role. Understands the type of data needed for visual management of processes and issues.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or institution (OR a High school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years experience in Materials, Sourcing, Fulfillment, Manufacturing, Quality or Supply Chain role)
A minimum of 3 years in Materials, Sourcing, Fulfillment, Manufacturing, Quality or Supply Chain role
