Job Description Summary

As a member of the Finance DT team, the SPB Senior Staff Technical Product Manager is responsible for leading multiple initiatives across Aviation ERPs, including Oracle AR and AP Implementations, Customer Master projects, Intercompany account simplification as well initiatives that support Corporate Pillar applications and integrations to ERP subledgers. Additionally, this role ensures outcomes are delivered on time, within scope and budget and of desired quality.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Interact with (1) Functional Owners (2) Development Teams (3) Adjacent Product Owners (4) Executive Stakeholders & Sponsors. In this interaction the TPM will be in charge of working the strategy with the business, translating requirements into technical User Stories, manage the execution of the team and ensure deliverables always align to the defined goal.

  • Develop deep understanding of customer goals and the value customers derive from the applications supporting the GE Aviation Finance function

  • Review existing Finance processes in AR and AP that are defined in the Oracle ERPs and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Own the Cash ERP blueprint as technical lead for Finance initiatives like Engines Modernization

  • Analyze competing offerings or capabilities, including internal alternatives and understand how our products differentiate.

  • Orchestrate a variety of stakeholders to achieve a shared vision of product goals and priorities.

  • Work closely with other product teams to convey the product vision and continuously verify the product fulfills/delivers the vision.

  • Always maintain a full product life cycle perspective and balance short/long term deliverables.

  • Work with System owners to identify correct integration methods & rhythms.

  • Drive technology discussion and strategy in line with business needs and system architecture.

  • Enable process improvements within the business through the effective use of operational & financial data.

  • Own and manage the backlog; continuously order and prioritize to ensure that 1-2 sprints/iterations of backlog are always ready.

  • Routinely collaborate with UX, Architecture, engineering and corporate application teams on multiple issues and decisions.

  • Be regarded as an expert in Agile Methodology and the overall environment; translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units through problem decomposition and planning.

  • Develop and own the product strategy for your assigned products, while driving a bi-weekly release cycle.

  • Demonstrate expert level skill in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity.

  • Work with technical team to groom user story and estimate effort.

  • Develop, support, and execute against a road-map alongside your functional counterpart

  • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting at various levels of the organization

  • Prioritize needs according to the understanding and validation of customer needs and associated outcomes

  • Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and inter-dependencies. Partner with technical and functional teams external to the project to ensure their tasks are completed as required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 6 years of professional experience (OR Associates degree with minimum of 9 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 11 years of professional experience)

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Financial Systems including Oracle and/or SAP.

Note : Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

Desired Characteristics/Technical Expertise

  • Professional experience in IT, Business, Finance, Finance IT/ Product Management and/ or Supply Chain Agile / Project Management / Product Management expertise

  • Familiar with supply chain operation

  • Experience with use of Oracle R12 including Receivables and AP

  • Familiar with reporting capabilities like Spotfire and Tableau

  • Experiences on the use of Agile Methodology/Scrum

  • Experienced with working on Sprints, grooming requirements and creating user stories.

  • Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems

  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts

  • Skilled in negotiation to align stakeholders and communicate a single synthesized perspective to the scrum team.
