Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead a global team of Product Owners, Architects, and Engineers to design, build, and operationalize data platforms both on-premise and in the cloud

  • Establish and drive the data vision for the Aerospace business

  • Act as the Chief Product Owner for data platforms, prioritizing execution with business demand across a matrix of Aerospace DT

  • Partner with Aerospace DT to create shared strategic roadmaps and communicate to the business for awareness and adoption

  • Demonstrate very strong technical leadership and people management skills including solid communication and analytical skills with thorough understanding of successful problem definition, decomposition, estimation and resolution

  • Build, coach, mentor, and lead a world class data team

  • Manage capacity, velocity, and backlog across multiple Agile teams to ensure business priorities are met while minimizing or eliminating technical debt across assets

  • Develop a DevOps strategy to accelerate new asset development while optimizing ongoing support for mature assets

  • Develop internal products and platforms to improve team velocity, such as standard work and SOPs, CI/CD, process automation, quality assurance and testing and governance

  • Create a consistent communication rhythm on organization and operations status, keeping IT leadership, application owners and functional partners in synch with overall initiative outcomes, establishing a full wing to wing operational support model

  • Drive standards across teams to eliminate duplication and rework across the Aerospace landscape

  • Plan and manage budgets related to scope of team

  • Communicate effectively both within immediate team and GE leadership.

  • Ensure team receives consistent messages and has clear understanding of business direction, strategy and results

  • Establish and foster a work culture at all levels that is positive, collaborative, diverse, inclusive, respectful, innovative, dynamic, with high integrity, and capable of driving positive change over sustained periods of time

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with minimum years of 10 years of experience

Desired Characteristics

Technical Expertise:

  • At least 2 years of experience in architecting applications within AWS or Azure cloud ecosystems

  • Experienced in design, performance, availability and scalability of cloud infrastructure

  • Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and / or industry activities

  • Experience with virtual machine and container image lifecycle management

Business Acumen:

  • Demonstrated ability to establish operational performance metrics and drive continuous efficiencies and improvements for systems, processes, and resources

  • Demonstrated ability to manage team/product operations across the product ecosystem and make tradeoffs based on key business priorities

  • Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, builds strong customer relationships, and partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives

  • Ability to decompose problems and make decisions when problems or solutions are not 100% defined

  • Able to speak to mutual needs and win-win solutions with partners

  • Demonstrated effective strategy development and execution

Leadership:

  • Demonstrated experience leading and influencing across a complex, global matrix organization

  • Collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from stakeholders

  • Demonstrates ownership of business decisions including outcomes and any required rework plans

  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing team members

  • Experience providing feedback on performance toward goals

  • Ability to proactively identify and remove obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team
