General Electric Sr Digital Solution Engineer in Cincinnati, Ohio

Role Summary:

Current powered by GE is looking for a Solutions Engineer to join its Digital Team. The Solutions Engineer will play a key role in delivering successful digital solutions for our customers. This person will work wit the Commercial team in proposing valid solutions for the markets and will work with the project team in deploying the solution. The Solution Engineer will also participate in training internal Current resources in the specifics of Energy Management solution deployments.

Essential Responsibilities:

Additionally, as the Solutions Engineer, key responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the Commercial team, analyze customers' existing building system configurations in order to propose a new solution based on Current's technologies

  • Help customers understand their pain points - and manage the consultative process responsibility to help customers along journey

  • Become the customers' trusted advisor

  • Conduct technical sales presentations and workouts at customer sites to determine use cases and outcomes

  • Review and coordinate RFI / RFP responses

  • Generate design drawings, installation instructions, bills of material and any other such documents necessary for the successful implementation of the solution(s)

  • Provide training to customer resources

  • Be a digital resident subject matter expert for Current

  • Provide training to Current resources on building systems installation and operations

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field (Engineering, IT, etc.) from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 5 yrs experience in the BMS / EMS industry or building technology type of applied software / hardware / control system being sold into the commercial and industrial environment (Including Experience supporting and/or designing complex software solutions in commercial and/or industrial environments) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

  • Willing to travel up to 50-75% of the time when necessary

  • 6-10 yrs experience in the BMS / EMS industry or building technology type of applied software / hardware / control system being sold into the commercial and industrial environment

  • Demonstrated experience in integrating multiple control systems with different protocols (BACnet, Lonworks, legacy / proprietary)

  • Must understand the vendor landscape

  • best & legacy design practices

  • emerging technologies

  • Tridium Niagara certification is strongly preferred

  • Zigbee mesh networking experience strongly preferred

  • Strong knowledge of building subsystem energy consumption analysis

  • Demonstrated experience in designing, estimating and executing energy conservation measures in commercial buildings (VFD, LED retrofits)

  • Experience in supporting sales efforts across North America

  • Excellent ability to train other resources

  • Experience in supporting sales efforts for large multi-site and/or national accounts

  • Knowledge of the variations in building systems design across the industrial, warehouse, retail, commercial office and hospitality verticals

  • Experience in designing / integrating refrigeration control systems a big plus

  • Ability in communicating and collaborating with contractors, commissioners, electricians, HVAC techs, etc.

  • Strong Knowledge of the I0T landscape and emerging technologies as it relates to the commercial and industrial environment

  • Strong understanding of IT / OT local architectures, modern cloud system architecture, cloud to cloud system integration standards, vendor landscape and best practices

  • Strong knowledge of building subsystem equipment (HVAC, Lighting, Refrigeration)

  • Must understand the vendor landscape
