Job Description Summary
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Serve as a Data Acquisition technologist while partnering with product teams and operations teams to implement the most effective platform architecture for both on-prem and cloud landing zones. Design all Big Data components “As a Service” to enable adoption of self-service and DevOps for customers while ensuring appropriate security, access and guardrails. Execute proof of concept projects to prove platform technologies to specific business use cases. Keep up to date with emerging/enabling technologies and work as a champion to promote their use. Ensure technologies will scale to the needs of the application. Create and document resilient architectures and mentor teams in the most appropriate way to leverage solutions. Provide input to the technology plan for the organization, ensuring those plans integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure ecosystem. Support, advice, assist, guide, and resolve problems associated with solution delivery.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology or STEM Majors [Science, Technology, Engineering (any) and Math], and 2 years of experience in related occupation required. The position also requires: 2 years of experience with Big Data technologies and architecture; 1 year of experience with HVR, Talend, and other ETL transport tools; 1 year of Linux Administration (RHEL/OEL/Ubuntu) experience; 1 year experience with AWS Data Platforms such as Kinesis, Data Pipeline, Lambda, Redshift, or RDS; 2 years experience with infrastructure automation; and 2 years experience with Big Data tools and platforms such as Hadoop, NoSQL, RBDMS.
