Job Description Summary
GE Aviation is looking for a Sr Infrastructure Architect to join our exciting and dynamic team of product, software & infrastructure experts. In this role you will be responsible for infrastructure configuration and architecture of our enterprise PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) platforms. You will be delivering product support and continuous improvement in a global Dev Ops team focused on improving operational excellence.
Roles and Responsibilities
As the Sr Infrastructure Architect you will have responsibility to configure, sustain, and architect on-prem servers, VMs, and cloud solutions for a global PLM enterprise platform. You will improve the performance and availability of servers and services by designing solutions that leverage state of the art compute, storage, database, and network technologies. You will apply the principles of engineering lifecycles and methodologies such as automated deployment, orchestration, cyber security, process documentation practices and testing techniques.
In this role, you will:
Participate in the domain technical and business discussions relative to future architect direction.
Assist in the analysis, design and development of a roadmap and implementation based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.
Gather and analyze data and develop architectural requirements at project level.
Participate in the infrastructure architecture governance model.
Participate in the development of software, data, and technology.
Contribute to the designs and deployment of infrastructure solutions meeting standardization, consolidation, Total Cost of Ownership, security, regulatory compliance and application system qualities.
Research and evaluate emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities.
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 2 years of professional experience (OR Associates degree with minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 7 years of professional experience).

Desired Characteristics & Technical Expertise
Basic knowledge of Teamcenter, Windchill or any other PLM applications including data model and system architecture
Basic understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) configuration and customizations.
Good knowledge of scripting languages such as Shell scripts, Perl , Python etc.
Working knowledge of configuration choices and related cost implications; Experience with complex solution configurations.
Experience sustaining operational stability through various life cycle phases (planning, implementation, steady state, de-commissioning)
Able to lead early stage customer interactions; Guide customers as they develop confidence and comfort with approaches and integrate with their legacy tech investments.
Adept at navigating the organizational matrix; understanding people's roles, can foresee obstacles, identify workarounds, leverage resources and rally teammates.
