General Electric Sr Lead UX Interaction Designer in Chicago, Illinois
Role Summary:As a Sr Staff UX Interaction Designer focused on platform UX and Imaging for GE Healthcare you will apply your knowledge of leading and defining UX projects and proven industry UX best practices to help research, define, sequence, prototype, design, test and deliver next-generation, intuitive diagnostic imaging software for 2D, 3D & VR/AR. You will help set a compelling, coherent UX direction for clinical applications to generate customer and user satisfaction, improve outcomes and save lives.
Lead, perform, help coordinate and guide UX , research and visual design work and UX research for various products and projects
Have a passion for healthcare, imaging and medicine, with a preferred background in one of these areas
Demonstrate strong work experience in UX for enterprise software development and delivery
Utilize your knowledge of Design Research, Visual Design, Interaction Design, Design Technology and Content Strategy by leading rapid research, design, prototyping and product development efforts in clinical imaging
Be a passionate leader, advocate and evangelist of UX with product and engineering leaders and executives, as well as with customers and externally

Work directly with executives, senior product owners and architects globally to develop realistic product plans and releases that properly prioritize, scope and plan for UX research, design and testing. Work with product owners to understand market needs & vision; work with teams to quickly translate that vision into workflows, interactions and designs
Converse fluently in French and English
Lead, coordinate and manage team discussions relative to UX. Independently lead design sprints, UX requirements definition sessions and design thinking workshops, and accurate scoping of the UX research and design work you will lead and perform
Work directly with clinical customers and users when possible, locally and around the world, to understand and validate business, diagnostic and technical needs, goals, work processes and outcomes
Demonstrate a strong understanding of Agile software development as well as Lean UX methodologies and can troubleshoot the challenges of integrating UX into an Agile model
Rapidly become a recognized internal expert on UX for healthcare diagnostic imaging software
Guide and help deliver effective documentation and communication of design - via personas, wireframes, mockups, workflows, interactive prototypes at low and high fidelity, user stories, data visualizations, written requirements, usability documentation and coded UI components
Be comfortable critiquing and guiding the visual design for the software components you lead, via a colleague or in your own work
Communicate and coordinate effectively both with the immediate team, remote teams and GE leadership
Combine demonstrated creativity and refined knowledge of visual design and visual communications with very strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving approaches that align all product and design problems back the user’s goals and needs
Master’s Degree in Interaction, Graphic, or Industrial Design preferred or in “STEAM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) or relevant work experience equivalent
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in product design.
Fluent in English ( written and oral)

Creates annotated prototypes or wireframes of user interface designs that visually and textually communicate the behavior of a software application.
Skilled in standard design & wireframing tools (Adobe CC, OmniGraffle, Sketch), hand drawing and visual communication, time-based and interactive prototyping tools (Hype, Adobe Edge, Keynote).
Demonstrates knowledge of business products, key processes, suppliers, customers and market/competitors.
Understands and stays up to date on the industry’s technology landscape; brings new ideas to the team. Maps industry technology trends to internal vision.
Understands key principles of design thinking, what it is and why it is important. Explores all ideas, regardless of their source.
Works to create an understanding of how individual people and things fit within larger structures (like systems or organizations), as well as the relationships between parts of a system and the system as a whole.
Understands the value of a rigorous, collaborative and transparent decision-making process.
Demonstrates sensitivity to key cultural issues.
