Job Description Summary
Sr Enterprise Application Engineer will be responsible for supporting Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery product portfolio leveraged across GE Healthcare. The individual will strive to increase productivity with their research into best practices, design, implementation, and operation of solutions that continuously modernize, streamline, and increase the efficiency of software development process.
Roles and Responsibilities.
Researching new tools and technologies to keep our software development eco-system on the cutting edge for embracing microservices development and deployment models
Be responsible for defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure
Enabling the developer community with the hands-on adoption of best practices around continuous integration, configuration management, containers, and DSL pipeline components
Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
Conform to best practices in network administration and cybersecurity.
Supporting process improvements, driving efficiency across teams, and eliminating redundancy by leveraging software tools and process automation
Implement and support monitoring and alerts with tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Jaeger, Prometheus.
Proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness
Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project
Manage virtualized/containerized environment (VMWare/Docker) set-up, maintenance & ongoing development
AWS Terraform platform deployment, upgrades, maintenance.
Automation: Deploying our microservices to staging, production, and on-prem development
Automation: Jenkins and Gitlab pipeline and testing suite
Monitoring and alerts with Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus
Contribute towards defining/executing future capabilities for CI/CD (future roadmap and vision)
Security expertise for all CI/CD tools stack such as SonarCube, Artifactory and GitLab
CI/CD Administration (Jenkins, GitLab, CloudBees, etc.)
Security with Vault, WSO2, Dex/Keycloak
Packaging with Helm 3 and Packer
Knowledge of Software devlopment cycle as applicable tp the medical device industry
An appetite for taking intelligent risks and willingness to experiment new technologies & methodologies.
Dependable, hands-on problem solver obsessed with automating processes with excellent organizational and analytical skills; detail-oriented but moves fast
Qualifications and experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
5 years - Design and development, DevOps, OOP
experience with containerization
experience with orchestration tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes and Ansible
experience with packaging tools like Helm
experience with TLS certificates and management
experience on the command line and writing shell scripts
Experience with CI/CD pipelines
Experience with version control like Git
Experience with monitoring infrastructure and code using tools like Datadog, Grafana, and Prometheus
- Experience working in regulated environment and CSV knowledge
