Job Description

The Value Delivery Region Lean Leader is a new position for the GE Healthcare US & Canada (USCAN) business and will be integral to the way we execute our business for the long term. As part of the USCAN team, the Value Delivery Region Lean leader will play a pivotal role in helping drive the business forward. Working in close partnership with the Regional leadership team and USCAN Lean organization, this leadership role will help implement Lean practices across the Regional team and collaborate with stakeholders from other functions. This role is considered as growth opportunity for a high performing individual or an opportunity for an established lean practitioner.

Essential Responsibilities

The overall objective of the role is to positively impact results and culture by establishing standards, institutionalizing daily management processes, and adopting consistent problem-solving methods across the business. To achieve this the Value Delivery Region Lean Leader will be expected to serve as a facilitator, educator, advocate, consultant and accountability partner for Lean, driving the understanding and application of Lean principles and tools across their respective USCAN region.

Collaborate with the USCAN business to assess value streams, processes and practices as compared to lean company benchmarks, both internal and external. Design and build organization lean capacity to coach individuals and teams while transforming the key value streams.

Act as the lean practitioner to prioritize and solve problems based on voice of the customer related to safety, quality, delivery, cost and cash through the application of lean.

Assist Regional leaders in establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing daily management to drive continuous improvement.

Establish a kaizen event rhythm within the business and leverage that activity to develop lean proficiency for all employees; creating internal capabilities to facilitate kaizens and sustain continuous process improvement without external support.

Partner with the USCAN business Lean leader to quickly deploy new, best-practice capability and process within the function across GE. Key contributor to the development and implementation of the GE lean system.

Qualifications / Requirements

Demonstrated ability in solving complex problems and transforming business performance and process through the application of Lean techniques.

Lean practitioner, capable of facilitating kaizen events and coaching the core tools such as Daily Visual Management, structured Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work and Transactional Process Improvement.

Proven to be effective driving outcomes in large, matrixed organizations – understands how to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc. Can drive work around the world because they are accountable, trustworthy, credible, committed, and intellectually agile.

Change agent, able to make the case for lean, demonstrate immediate impact and drive cultural change within the business and on campus.

Highly collaborative person, comfortable with constructive conflict and debate normally associated with change.

Critical thinker with the ability to bring others along, even those with conflicting priorities.

Impactful communicator from the shop floor to the boardroom.

Basic Qualifications

BS or BA Degree; Master’s Degree preferred

Minimum 8 years in a General Management or lean/operational leadership role

Minimum of 5 years mastering a variety Lean and Growth-related tools such as: Strategy Deployment, Problem Solving, Daily Management, Standard Work, and VSM/Process Mapping

Desired Characteristics

Familiarity with lean methodologies

Excellent time and project management

Successfully managed multi-million-dollar budget

Technical Expertise - Possess the technical skills necessary to be credible; must have significant practitioner experience in Growth & Lean tools and processes

Proven ability to bring order and structure to function and organization quickly

Strategic mindset with hands-on approach

Strong commercial focus on customer and end user experience
