Job Description Summary
An exciting opportunity has become available at the centre of the GE Supply Chain and will be core to the execution of our long-term site strategy. As the Supply Chain Insource Leader you will support the transition of product manufacture from our external supply base into the Cheltenham business. In this role you will develop and execute the insource plan and mitigate disruption to internal/external customers whilst maintaining control around the investments required (Inventory, CapEx, Expenses etc).
This role will require engagement across Supply Chain, Programmes and Engineering to ensure on time execution to the transition plan and risk management throughout. Broad experience in Supply Chain is required and experience in project leadership is beneficial.
Develop and execute the transition plans with our internal/external customer delivery as a critical focus.
Maintain control of the critical processes involved in product transitions across Supply Chain, Programmes and Engineering and elevate concerns to the appropriate level when required.
Provide leadership, direction, and project management for the team to allow them to execute the critical actions aligned to the overall project strategy.
Partner with Sourcing and Planning to ensure longer term material alignment in an environment where external material delivery can create risk.
Partner with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure we de-risk the uplift in capability from planning of equipment commissioning to product flow line development.
Control and communication of the inventory investment to key stakeholders; this investment will be fundamental in minimising customer disruption.
Communicate plans and solutions across the supply chain and across the site as relevant.
Continue to develop and standardise our processes and approach to insourcing products.
Broad Materials, Sourcing or Planning experience; ability to connect project execution goals to departmental responsibilities.
Influencing skills and experience of working across a matrixed supply chain organization.
Project management experience and cross functional leadership preferred. PM qualification not mandatory.
Strong problem-solving skills and experience implementing process improvement or new process introduction.
Self-starter attitude that takes initiative to identify and mitigate operational risks.
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
