General Electric Senior Sales Manager - Civil Services & Aftermarket in Cheltenham, United Kingdom

Job Description Summary

The Sr. Sales Director supports the functional area of Sales for the International region (outside of the Americas), with particular focus on growing Civil Services & Aftermarket revenues/profitability within the UK and Europe. This person is responsible for the development, leadership, and capture of Services opportunities/business in the GE Aerospace Defense & Systems international marketplace. Initial & primary focus will be on supporting and expanding the Systems position across the dynamic sustainment activities associated with our international commercial/civil Systems customers, including Airlines, traders, MRO&U (maintenance, repair, overhaul & upgrade) businesses and the Aircraft OEMs (eg Airbus, Comac). The successful candidate will also support the deployment & application of Lean across the Sales team. Support to military services opportunities may also be necessary depending on specific business and market conditions.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Execute on assigned operating plan to assure that business achieves growth, orders, and cash targets.

Build influential relationships with assigned customers at all levels and develop strategies to win profitable business from those customers.

Develop strong relationships across the internal matrix organisation including OE Sales, Engineering, Product & Program Management, Sourcing and Supply Chain.

Build & lead strong Bid IPTs (integrated project teams) to promote teamwork, collaboration and to increase win probability, and ultimately win rate.

Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities driving growth.

Develop customer strategies and pursuit / campaign plans.

Direct major cross functional campaigns and pursuits for civil programs.

Lead numerous, complex, multi-million-dollar proposal efforts.

Improve cash flow by supporting the division’s cash collection/past due program.

Interact with CRM systems tracking pursuits and opportunities.

Demonstrate commercial and technical expertise within the aviation systems market segment.

Support division input for operating planning and forecasting.

Support strategy and growth initiatives for the division.

Participate in negotiations as needed to close deals.

25%-50% domestic & international travel as needed to meet job requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited university or college.

  • Significant experience in aerospace / defense industry business development, Program Management, Sales, or Marketing.

  • Driving license.

Location – this position is based in Cheltenham, UK.
