General Electric Senior Compliance Specialist - Investigator (EMEA Region) in Cheltenham, United Kingdom

Job Description Summary

The Senior Compliance Investigator will be a member of a team that is conducting GE Aerospace internal Ombuds investigations. The Senior Compliance Investigator will be a senior lawyer or Compliance professional, responsible for investigating cases regarding a variety of matters involving alleged violations of law or GE policy across the business in all regions.

Working with other stakeholders within the Business, Legal & Compliance & HR Departments, the Senior Compliance Investigator will (1) lead and conduct autonomously investigations of policy concerns raised through the Open Reporting system; (2) keep key stakeholders apprised of important developments; and (3) identify trends and risk mitigation strategies. This role is critical to the planning and implementation of GE Aerospace's Compliance program.

The Senior Compliance Investigator must have a proven record of being thorough, fair, and objective with attention to detail, timeliness and with a cost control mindset. The Senior Compliance Investigator must be able to adapt to working in a diverse and multicultural work environment.

This position may also be eligible for the following flexible work arrangements (FWA) -- remote work

This role can be based remotely in the UK, Italy or other EMEA country where GE Aerospace has operations.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct prompt, thorough & independent Compliance investigations into alleged violations of the company's Spirit & the Letter policies or law.

  • Provide teamwork, mentorship, training, and guidance to other investigators.

  • Review and assess complaints and allegations and be able to develop and manage investigate plans and strategies.

  • Conduct interviews, and collect & review documentary / forensic evidence;

  • Prepare high quality written reports of the investigation which provide a clear and logical account of the allegations, investigative work performed, key findings and conclusions.

  • Maintain client relationships in the face of conflicting demands or directions and provide evidence-based conclusion and recommendation on sound diagnosis and information.

  • Partner with Legal, Ombuds/Open Reporting, HR, risk focals, and other functions to identify and understand trends, analyze risks, and report to stakeholders in support of GE Aviation’s overall risk mitigation strategies.

  • Know and understand all applicable legal and policy requirements pertaining to the conduct of investigations including in areas involving employee interviews, data privacy, labor and employment requirements, and more; monitor changes in such laws and policies and provide guidance to colleagues with respect to such change.

Qualification / Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline with substantial level of professional experience in workplace investigations, compliance, law, internal audit, controllership, or a related field

  • Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel skills

  • Highest personal integrity with demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and inspire trust

  • Established analytical and problem-solving ability,

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to handle & prioritize multiple cases

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with employees at all levels of the organization

  • Creativity, vision, and sound judgment

  • High level of cultural sensitivity, flexibility and emotional intelligence in order to work effectively within GE's multicultural environment
