General Electric Lead Turbine Engineer - Steam in Chamblee, Georgia
Job Description Summary
The Steam Turbine Engineer will report to the Manager of Shop Operations of the Atlanta Service Center and is responsible for technical support including the preparation & maintenance of Steam Turbine repair routers and local methods. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develop technical planning and documentation for all in-shop and on-site Steam Turbine Department repairs (to include detailed description of activities with sign-offs, QA hold and witness points, data sheets, drawings, specifications, applicable safety risk assessment sheets, job schedules)
Provides technical support in creating and/or modifying process specifications to ensure proper application of repair methods at the Service Center.
Manage shop and on-site projects
Provide timely updates to SAP order management system
Conducts repair challenge reviews with network to ensure CTC & CTQ elements are understood.
Provide technical plan and schedule updates
Generate inspection/condition reports containing technical data and repair recommendations and repair/final customer reports
Be responsible for the regular coordination of activities with other departments to insure smooth operation and flow of the Service Center's activities
Develop and engage in frequent verbal and written communications with customers, sales, engineering, Power Services, and other Service Centers
Ensure Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) program compliance
Support root cause investigations and the implementation of CAPA effectiveness
Work with PQE & CI team to drive sustainable process changes
Analyze problems, in process inspections, internal corrective actions, as necessary, to improve overall quality systems and scrap control.
Ensure compliance to the technical plans and the Quality Management System
Overall responsibility for Internal Audit execution, for conformance to quality plans, systems, and requirements as per the Internal Audit Plan.
Assist MSO with various forecasts, estimation of hours, cost for projects and reports
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
Minimum 1 year experience in related field
Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

Six Sigma Green Belt
Knowledge of Steam Turbine repairs
Knowledge of Lean and/or alternative continuous improvement methods
