Job Description Summary

Reporting into the Customer Insights Director for EMEA, this role will align and partner with the EMEA businesses (zone/modality/functions) to champion the voice of the customer and implement robust analytical solutions to enable objective decision making within the EMEA region.

They will be on the forefront of identifying & evaluating forward-thinking techniques and processes for Customer and Market Insight generation and help stakeholders identify and harness business opportunities across customer segments by acting as an objective listening pole, with a "market-in" approach to proactively feed key healthcare trends back into the business. They will drive program structure efficiency and partner in Voice of Customer deployment.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Building stakeholder rapport and supporting key business processes: engaging key business leaders to prioritize & shape Customer and Market Insights which will drive critical business decisions and support core marketing processes for EMEA e.g. LTS, BPR and Omnichannel

  • Forecasting: support the development and management of market forecasts for key strategic planning exercises, including COCIR liaison to anticipate potential share movements and enable proactive action. Work collaboratively with the marketing and commercial teams to develop effective measures of activities and market impact.

  • Segmentation & targeting: Drive customer segmentation within the region to enable more streamlined marketing & commercial action. Liaise with marketing and commercial teams to identify potential opportunities for lead generation and funnel acceleration through targeting programs e.g. Omnichannel

  • Global market pulse: analyzing market movements and flagging lead/lag Indicators on a quarterly basis. Receive and interpret global quantitative Insights for the region and conversely represent the regional perspective on global forums.

  • Syndicated source management: conducting in-depth desk research on priority topics to keep on top of key Industry trends. Managing and leveraging internal resources and subscriptions to enable access to objective and relevant third-party information. Methodology interrogation & capabilities assessments of third parties.

  • Market research expertise: able to design respondent screeners and both qualitative and quantitative questionnaires. Skilled in interview moderation and familiar/quick to learn with survey tools such as Qualtrics and data visualization tools such as Tableau.

  • Competitive intelligence capability: engaging with field and service teams to leverage internal knowledge and cultivate a two-way flow of intelligence. Designing and implementing competitive gaming and sales enablement tools as needed.

  • Program design & agency management: responsible for scope/design of customer & competitive intelligence research programs including writing RFP, vendor selection and management, final study design/methodology and fieldwork issue resolution

  • Multi-source insight synthesis and activation: to provide thought-leadership, support Value Proposition development and assist in both new and mature market characterization (size, share, key segments and Dynamics)

  • Compliance & quality: ensuring compliance is maintained within all data management, research and competitive intelligence processes in collaboration with Legal/Compliance.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or Statistics/Economics or related field

  • 5+ years’ experience one of the following disciplines - market research, analytics, strategic marketing, consulting or related field. Preferably within the Healthcare Industry

  • Excellent proficiency in Excel modelling and attention to detail

  • Ability to influence, understand and embrace diversity, engage as a horizontal team player and drive change cross-functionally in a highly matrixed environment

  • Strong analytical ability & curiosity: ability to interpret and provide insights using large amounts of information, e.g. market metrics, clinical studies & scientific papers, financial reports and in-depth market research studies

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills. Concise and clear story-telling and data/concept visualization

  • Excellent process and project management skills – able to lead and manage complex matrix teams

  • High energy, works proactively and demonstrates flexibility in approach to changing work priorities

  • Team oriented – ability to motivate and work well with diverse, multi-national, cross-functional and virtual teams

  • Fluency in English language / multilingual

  • Willingness to travel
