Job Description Summary
This role will lead and improve all areas of Planning and Logistics using Lean Management. It will facilitate and enhance problem solving capabilities through development and improvement of Hoshin Kanri, Kaizen, Daily Management and Standard Work. It will provide an excellent framework for creating efficiencies throughout the organization with emphasis on waste reduction and process streamlining offered by Lean thinking.
The overall objective of the role is to drive the understanding and application of Lean principles across the Supply Chain
Define and execute strategic Lean initiatives to drive waste reduction and improve the team’s overall performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost.
Work with Planning and Logistics leaders to optimise end to end value streams
Install and optimize visual management to enhance the full management system and improve daily problem solving and continuous improvement
Share best practices across the supply chain and act as a conduit to accelerate improvements
Training and coaching all associated via formal training and Genba walks on problem solving behaviors and basic lean methodologies including visual management, 5S, Standardized work, and leader standard work.
Working through the PDx Lean team, build organisation lean capacity to coach individuals and teams.
Analyze data and use value stream mapping to create future state lean designs.
Establish a kaizen event rhythm within the business and leverage that activity to develop lean proficiency for all employees; creating internal capabilities to facilitate kaizens and sustain continuous process improvement without external support.
Bring new ideas, motivation and positive support to all levels of the Logistics and Planning teams
Bachelors’ degree in business or engineering, or equivalent knowledge
Minimum of 3-5 years experience solving complex problems and transforming business performance and process through the application of Lean techniques.
Lean practitioner, capable of facilitating kaizen events and coaching the core tools such as Daily Visual Management, structured Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work and Transactional Process Improvement.
Experience in collaboration with the key interfaces within the end to end supply chain, with manufacturing and between supply chain and commercial functions
Excellent communications, influencing and collaboration skills required to manage a multitude of internal and external customers and partners
Critical thinker with the ability to bring others along, even those with conflicting priorities.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to set stretch goals, create and sustain energy and focus around business goals while continually identifying and cultivating key contributors, with an unique ability to influence the organization to support his goals.
