Reporting to the Global Head of Sourcing, the Global Sourcing Leader will own all sourcing activities relating to logistics and 3PL warehousing for the GE PDx business globally, and work in partnership with supply chain logistics, site and functional leadership teams to create, develop and deliver the logistics sourcing strategy for the business.

Job Description

Responsibilities

These responsibilities include the development, communication and execution of strategies to ensure realization of the business objectives PDx and supply chain to deliver right Product to the right patient at the right time. This will include utilizing an in-depth knowledge of pharma logistics and 3PL’s to perform supplier selection, supplier development, deliver cost-out and mitigate market and inflationary pressures, perform Should-Cost activities and ensure supplier performance to deliver to the business.

This is a highly visible sourcing role, that requires a strong collaboration with supply chain, product leadership, finance, quality and regulatory teams. This role requires ability to create and develop a strategic vision and be able to apply “out of the box” thinking to new commercial models with our supply base to deliver on the business of the future. The candidate will have a strong business acumen, project and stakeholder’s management skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owner of the supply base for PDx 3PL and logistics totaling $80M in partnership with the supply chain logistics team.

  • Leading the development & execution of the sourcing strategies that delivers a competitive advantage driving the strategic supplier initiatives through input from the Category Leaders/Managers. This includes supplier selection, development, and supplier consolidation to ensure sourcing optimization and overall supplier performance.

  • Building deep relationships with strategic suppliers, driving early supplier engagement for both new supply chain logistics initiatives or unique NPI (New Product Introduction) logistics requirements.

  • Performing detailed cost analysis of processes used by our suppliers to ensure highest quality at the lowest cost solution.

  • Monitoring supplier quality and delivery performance and developing improvement strategies to ensure business needs are met.

  • Partnering with key business stakeholders (commercial, supply chain, finance) and to ensure services meet the needs of the business.

  • Partnering with supply chain leadership staff, to challenge our current ways of working and look for new opportunities for cost improvement and/or value to the customer.

  • Developing negotiation strategies and drive negotiations with strategic suppliers to achieve stated goals and objectives

  • Working with businesses and suppliers to manage and track implementation of supply agreements

  • Communicating to senior leaders, obtain sign-off for projects funding, single source risk mitigation. Influence senior leaders on sourcing strategies, supplier selection, business models, acquisitions.

  • Leading virtual teams and leveraging all company resources to achieve sourcing goals for logistics

  • Driving improvements in sourcing processes including escalations due to delivery/quality issues, invoicing/payables issues, and database management

Qualifications and experience

  • Significant experience in Logistics Sourcing/Procurement within a heavily regulated industry: Pharma, Healthcare, medical devices, aviation, etc... (Pharma preferred)

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in supply chain, engineering or business administration with proven experience in commercial (sourcing, sales), supply chain.

  • Willing to travel internationally up to 20% of time

Desirable skills

  • Strong business acumen and capacity to understand complex market dynamics (supplier/partner/customer relationships).

  • Project management skills to execute complex projects with multiple stakeholders

  • Fast learner: ability to learn enough of a complex industry and products to interact with highly technical experts, commercial stakeholders and lead discussions, negotiations

  • Inclusiveness: ability to partner, support and be included and influence plant decisions

  • Proficiency in negotiating and executing commercial contracts.

  • Rigor and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact and partner with all levels of management in the company

  • Ability to energize, develop and build rapport at all levels within an organization​
