General Electric Advanced Engineer - Tooling in Castellon, Spain

Job Description Summary

The Advanced Tooling Engineer is to be located at the Castellon site (CAS). Within the responsibilities of the role at site, but not limited to, ensuring new equipment on site is setup as per specification and technical EHS demands are followed, managing FAT/SAT, installations, leading equipment related RCA’s, leading and tracking FMEA actions, capturing VOC, solve critical high complex equipment issues at site.

As part of a global Tooling team, the role will include managing global projects to develop, deliver and optimize equipment for the manufacture of wind turbine blades. As a technical expert within the department, advanced tooling engineer must advise and steer technical decisions, write technical specification, FAT/SAT’s, protocols and procedures.

The role will also include supporting other plants globally and mentoring colleagues within the department at other sites

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Solve critical LE issues at CAS Plant

  • Act as the technical LE leader on tooling projects

  • Bring expertise in supporting major industrial manufacturing equipment, to ensure suitable development and utilization of equipment and technology to improve manufacturing

  • Responsible for assisting in setting up best practices, standard procedures, specifications and processes that enable Tooling to deliver equipment to the highest level in an agile environment, ensuring (but not limited to) Cost-Out, EHS and compliance demands.

Required Qualifications

  • Master or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

  • 10+ years with practical & hands-on experience related to blade manufacturing equipment design/development and support, including a proven track record of supporting operations with regards to LE

Desired Characteristics

  • In depth knowledge of key concepts of automation, manufacturing equipment, industrialization, risk assessment.

  • Extensive technical experience in developing equipment

  • Analytical thinking with good communication skills to support colleagues

  • English and Spanish spoken and written

  • Experienced in mobilizing suppliers for onsite support and new development.

  • Project management expertise

  • Broad working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic.

  • Beneficial:

Expertise in Epoxy, Polyester and Vinylester resin systems

Programming (Ladder logic PLC, robotic and automotive equipment),

Expertise in dispense machines (Glue machines, direct infusion, degassers)

Expertise on Pultrusion and composite processing systems
