General Electric Production Planner in Cardiff, United Kingdom

Job Description Summary

This role will be the main interface between shop operations and the planning team. You will be a main source of information to the Overhaul & Planning leaders, working with them to optimise engine/module plans to minimise cost and TAT.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor adherence to plan

  • Highlight any instances where daily tasks are not completed on schedule in line with standard work.

  • Run gate closure reports and highlight any exceptions, ensuring consistency across product lines

  • Work with materials teams on new/vendor commit dates, highlighting instances where material does not fit the requirement.

  • Work with operations teams to understand labour capacity, ensuring that leave, sickness & training levels support production plan.

  • Work with wider planning team on long term site capacity planning; labour and tooling

  • Maintain site planning tools and systems, including SAP, engine plans and output trackers.

  • Monitor engines & modules through each shop visit, ensuring TAT & labour hours are on target

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment

  • Familiar with engine overhaul processes

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel

  • Experienced user of ERP systems (e.g. SAP)

  • Highly organised

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Effective problem identification skills

  • Strong team player

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in a planning/scheduling environment

  • Understanding of Lean principles, particularly standard work
