Baker Hughes Incorporated has an opening for a Physicist to join our Pipeline Inspections Technology team based out of our Calgary, Alberta location. Development of detection and classification algorithms for data collected our inline pipeline inspection tools
Development of algorithms for the interpretive analysis of data measured by our inline pipeline inspection tools
Interdisciplinary interaction in the integration of algorithms into software applications
Magnetic modeling for the evaluation and optimization of tools and associated sensor systems
Integrate data from new sensor technologies into analysis process
Develop and maintain processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity
Very good and broad basic physical understanding
Graduate degree in electrical engineering, Physics, Math or equivalent
2-10 years of experience in a R&D environment or related fields
Strong knowledge of at least one programming language (eg Python, C / C ++, Java)
Experience working scientific programming language Matlab/R
Analytical skills, modelling skills and statistical knowledge
Project management experience managing budgets, timelines and small groups of individuals
Ability to work in small teams and independently with minimal direction
Pipeline inspection experience is preferred
Effective communication skills verbally along with technical writing and documentation experience.
