Job Description Summary

The GE Power Gas currently operates on several global ERP’s, mainframe operating systems and has different reporting processes and metrics across the finance enterprise. With operations covering Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering and global Services it launched a multi-generation business transformation project to integrate, standardize and re-engineer these key business operations and finance processes. In that context, the Staff Technical Product Manager– Materials Management

will integrate the SAP Design COE, reporting to the Fulfilment Management Design leader and will be responsible for leading process and system design for the Process Areas – Sourcing & Procurement,Supplier Collaboration,Transportation & Logistics,Vendor Master and Warehouse & Inventory Management. In this role she/he will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within area of expertise, and own the Global design for the mentioned process space. The Staff Technical Product Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role she/he supports the effort to implement the SAP ECC 6 ERP strategy for the Gas Power in partnership with the Operation and IT team, supported by the System Integrators.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Partner with Process Excellence and Finance teams to Transform the business via process simplification.

  • Design global template for the business processes and manage the integrity by acting as a gatekeeper for the global template

  • Effectively engage subject matter experts from the business functions and translate their needs to solutions with high impact to business and/or its customers

  • Assist the product line Functional leads on processes, SAP transactions and other aspects of the implementation

  • Support Data Migration / Cut-over activities, as required

  • Lead the key deployment activities like Blueprint, Conference Room Pilot etc.

  • Proactive issues management and project risks resolution

  • Support, advise, assist, guide, and resolve problems for business partners and program team members

  • Ensure conformance to system architecture, standards, and practices

  • Act as a change agent for business processes, partner with operation and IT to drive business process re-engineering for the simple and complex order types of the business to create global standard and world-class processes in the areas of sourcing, procurement, transportation, logistics and supplier quality

  • Stay current with enabling technologies and work as a partner to promote their use

Minimal Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college

  • Work experience within Material Management operations along with a SAP deployment role (e.g. key-user) or within IT as Business Analyst/Functional Consultant for SAP MM, Ariba)

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or IT is preferred

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize under pressure

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in any additional language

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skill

  • Significant work experience with information technology, with a focus on Production Planning & Execution in SAP

  • Experience implementing ERP solutions in tax complex countries

  • Global ERP rollout experience

  • Experience with other SAP ECC 6.0 modules (e.g. SD, PP, PS)

  • Experience working with globally distributed teams and working with multi-cultural environment

  • Ability to quickly identify and analyze technical risks & impacts, define alternatives to remove technical roadblocks.

  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables independently in a fast paced ecosystem

  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to multi-task efficiently on parallel efforts

  • Ability to bridge communication between technical areas and business areas for a full and complete understanding of expectations.

  • Functional experience in the areas of Sourcing & logistics is a plus
