Job Description Summary
The SAP Solution Expert plays a key role in designing, building and deploying robust and established SAP solutions, processes and practices on the MM and PP functional scope for GE Renewables businesses, related to ALTAIS SAP implementation projects, rollouts, core model deployments or system enhancements. Thanks to his/her proven functional expertise and experience in SAP MM and PP modules, the ideal candidate is able to autonomously work on business requirements collection, consolidation, analysis, effort estimation for new SAP solutions in the MM and PP domains, including the cross-functional and integrational aspects. He/she remains in close alignment with the relevant business stakeholders, SAP functional domain leads and knowledgeable partners in order to find the optimal solutions. Leveraging his/her excellent communication and collaboration skills, he/she is ready to hold system demonstrations, trainings and to produce profound and transparent documentation.
Job Description
Responsibilities
Project build and delivery on MM and PP domains (SAP product & deployment projects)
SAP core model evolutions, system enhancements via change request process
Support core model deployments
Enterprise standards implementations or rollouts
Work with key users and business stakeholders to understand business processes, key requirements, and key business excellence drivers
Analyze and consolidate business requirements to design the appropriate solution, considering existing core model reuse and leveraging SAP standards and best practices
Partner with other SAP functional and technical resources to define new functionality and functionality changes
Develop / promote holistic process solutions keying on existing blueprints and templates
Create detailed functional specifications, customizing documents and configuration charter updates
Customize the system according to the solution designed
Close collaboration with SAP technical / development teams related to solution build and enhancements
Perform proof of concepts, unit and integration tests for new solutions and processes prior to key-user testing
Support process experts and key users during business integration tests and user acceptance tests
Fix defects and incidents raised during test phases and post go-live
Hold solution demonstrations and trainings to key users, end users or other audience
Document processes and SAP functionality – processes, flowcharts, procedures, user guides, configurations
Assist with master data definition and guide business in best practices for validation
Assist support teams with L3 incident resolution
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
At least 3 years of experience with delivering solutions and providing functional expertise in SAP MM and PP modules
In-depth knowledge of business processes related to Sourcing, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Material Valuation as well as Manufacturing Planning and Execution
Good knowledge of main integrations with other SAP logistics modules, QM, SD, WM and potentially also with FI, CO, CS, PS
Experience with at least one contribution to a full-lifecycle project (either core model definition or ERP worldwide roll-outs)
General understanding of other global applications integrated with SAP (PLM, SRM, Supplier Collaboration platform, Invoice verification tools, etc.)
Experience working as an IT Project Manager is a plus
Experience using SAP Solution Manager and HP Quality Center is preferred
SAP Basis and ABAP knowledge is a plus
Experience working with offshore teams (development or application support)
Occasional off-hours support for go-lives or major issues (max. 3-4 times per year)
Flexibility to travel when needed (only occasional travels considered < 10%)
