General Electric Lead Operational Controllership Analyst in Budapest, Hungary

Responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis. Intermediate level professional positions requiring subject matter knowledge and experience, more independence in problem solving and decision making.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Timely, and accurate preparation of activities required for quarter-end and month-end closing (performing accounting and balance sheet reviews and analysis according to the business deadlines

  • Coordinate, review and support day-to-day accounting and close activities performed by outsourced teams

  • Build strong partnership with stakeholders across functions

  • Lead various R2R related projects (e. g. simplifications, system changes, new policies implementation, migrations)

  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly account reconciliations

  • Ensures controllership & compliance within local and GE requirements

  • Ensure that internal controls and check points are in place and are followed

  • Responsible for designing and implementing internal controls over financial reporting, including accounting policy implementations, SOX, distributed controllership, process simplification and internal controls over IPP monitoring and risk.

  • Serve as controllership experts on financial system and ERP implementations.

  • Developed basic commercial awareness; may allocate and be responsible for the quality of work in others; act as advisor and coach to junior team members; developed interpersonal skills to handle complex situations.

  • Focus on team & department priorities within operating unit and may be responsible for work and development of others.


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Finance).

  • Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Operational Controllership.
