General Electric ¬Lead Operational Controllership Analyst in Budapest, Hungary

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper accounting and controls for the trial balance of one or multiple Business ledgers in the region (external reporting, closing & reporting, peer review)

  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close process of the Business legal entities

  • Build strong partnership with multiple stakeholders across functions, coordinate with multiple operational teams to ensure high quality and timely delivery of financial information

  • Interact with operations, risk and any other function to ensure understanding of the entities and proper representation in its financials

  • Provide support on various R2R related projects (i.e. simplifications, system changes, new policies implementation)

  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and account closings and balance sheet analysis schedules

  • Generate complex financial reports, accounting to US GAAP standards (monthly, quarterly and annually)

  • Ensures controllership & compliance of all activities and documentation within local, GE corporate and business practices, policies & requirements

  • Ensure that internal controls and check points are in place and are followed

  • Coordinate and review of complex transactions and confirmation of the accounting treatment in cross-business schedules (CBS)

  • Prepare materials and provide training on technical accounting and other areas where knowledge/ gaps of the team are identified

  • Support and assist junior team members

  • Actively participate in migrations/ coordination – monitoring the transactions

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Business degree in finance or economics, and/or Chartered Public Accountant qualification – strong technical and analytical accounting background and/or equivalent knowledge/experience

  • Knowledge of US GAAP

  • Advance compute skills: Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn how to use other internal and external finance applications

  • Excellent communication skills: experience in working with multiple stakeholders, functions and regions and ability to deliver message effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Highly organized with a track record to meet commitments within strict deadlines Comfortable delivering against quantitative and qualitative performance metrics

  • Compliance and controllership mindset

  • Embrace change in response to new information in different and unexpected circumstances

  • Flexible approach with a strong team spirit

  • Ability to lead junior members and coordinate external service providers

  • Fluent in Business English
