As EMEA Lead Inventory Specialist you will become a member of the newly formed EMEA Inventory team and you will be responsible for leading lean daily management for the region/ business units (inventory tracking, reporting to Global), executing on inventory Problem Solving initiatives, partner with OTR operations team to improve processes and define standard work to accomplish the vision of having just in time inventory by the end of 2022.

Job Description

Work strategically with the OTR operations & Commercial Region teams to drive systematic and physical process changes in the way we manage the EMEA material flow. Lead projects focused on improving customer on-time delivery while reducing EMEA distribution inventory in the following buckets: Finished goods (FG) in warehouses, installation in process (IIP) at customers, locally sourced items (LSI / ICAT), etc. Projects include partnering with Commercial teams to expedite selling of slow moving inventory, reallocating existing FG to new customer orders, returning FG to manufacturing plants, ensuring alignment of incoming FG from manufacturing to support customer orders. Additionally, drive down existing obsolete inventory balance & reduce new obsolete inventory expense, helping the region improve inventory estimate and reach OP targets.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Partner with EMEA functional teams to establish operating mechanisms and develop actions to reduce aged inventory which will improve working capital and reduce obsolescence expense.

  • Coordinate and partner with EMEA OTR teams, Inventory and S&OP leaders to identify aged systems stranded in the region. Problem solve reasons why inventory is aging and implement temporary and long-term countermeasures to prevent this happening again in the future. Engage Commercial teams to promote sales, match aged systems with backlog, and reallocate inventory to align with regional/local demand.

  • Develop domain expertise in daily inventory management leveraging Oracle, iStock and tableau reporting tools.

  • Drive continuous improvement through lean and build and implement best practices across global Materials team.

  • Lead strategic lean projects aligned with GE Healthcare Hoshin Kanri priorities (Ultrasound, LCS, Imaging)

  • Exhibit leadership and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization including senior leadership.

  • Lead key Materials projects to improve the overall working capital position for GE Healthcare.

  • Drive for continuous inventory turn improvement and implement best practice models to assure targets are achieved

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degreein Engineeringand senior Supply Chain experience.

  • Satisfactory lean projects management demonstrated expertise

  • Proven ability tomanage interaction with all levels stakeholders, drive change initiatives through lean in a complex matrix environmentbeing autonomous and proactive in projects lead.

  • Ability to successfully motivate and maintain employee involvement while driving sustainable change.

  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, troubleshooting, rootcausing, analytical, financial, and planning skills.

  • Proven Oracle knowledge and experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • Preferred previous experience with global inventory.

  • Certified six sigma green/black belt.

  • Lean manufacturing/ transactional experience.

  • OMLP/ OFLP/ LTT/ FMP Graduate.
