General Electric CFM56 Operation Leader in Brindisi, Italy

Role Summary:

The CFM56 Operation Leader will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. He/she will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning. He/she will ensure M&I phase-out and CFM56 ramp-up, controlling and guaranteeing efficiency and cost as per budget, having the shop ready in terms of Layout, People training and Organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead, work in, and promote team-based business that focuses on providing specialized,quick turn around repair services to customers

  • Provide leadership in the areas of staff selection, training and development, facility planning and construction, process, and procedure implementation

  • Responsible for achieving business profit, productivity, safety, and quality goals

  • Communicate with customers to ensure that all commitments are met or exceeded

  • Provide total shop / group leadership in the attainment of goals with respect to safety, quality,cost, production and compliance

  • Direct process / product improvement programs and provide process method excellence throughout the organization

  • Lead / cell group to achieving goals in asset utilization, process / manufacturing lossimprovement, delivered quality and cost reduction

  • Ensure communication of key business / customer issues to employees

  • Direct the manufacturing of production and development of hardwareInterface with other organizations and vendors to assure requirements are met on time.

  • Provide ongoing supervision and counseling for employees, guiding them in current positions and assisting with career development and training

  • Work with customers, functional leaders, and internal staff to meet production and product support requirements

  • Facilitate the leadership team in decision-making and problem solving and provide effective communication across the plant

  • Develop and track sales, expense, inventory, and investment budgets with the input of each organization


  • Technical degree from an accredited university or college (Engineering is preferred)

  • Mandatory solid experience in manufacturing leadership position (previous experience in technology and material management processes will be a plus)

  • Experience in Supply Chain Aviation

  • Fluent both Italian and English

  • Strong computer skills

  • EU work permit

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to develop and motivate a high-involvement team through commitment to meeting customer and organization demands

  • Prior experience with regulatory agencies and knowledge of requirements is preferred

  • Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, and standard cost systems

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Knowledge of manufacturing policies and regulations established by GE as well as government and other customers

  • Knowledge of GE products, processes, customer requirements and budgeting/financial processes is preferred

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Experience in MRO Aviation
