Job Description Summary

The Site Quality Manager (SQM) is a key member of the GE Customer Site Organization, reporting operationally to the Site Director and functionally to the Construction & Commissioning Organization Quality leader. As a member of a large and complex EPC Nuclear New Build Project, the SQM is in close cooperation with the Lead Project Quality Manager (PQM) to understand all the quality aspects (Contract requirements, Scope of work, Relations with the Client, Relations with the Regulatory and Statutory Representatives, Relations with GE subcontractors, etc....).

The SQM is in charge to deploy the GE Steam Power Business quality policies and processes. He / She ensures all the applicable quality requirements are met during the site activities.

The SQM is rigorously a change agent for improving the processes and monitoring the adherence of the local teams to the quality principles. He / She is the GE quality representative facing the Customer at site.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide quality and nuclear safety induction training to the site personnel

• Lead and manage the site quality team, interact with the Client and GE subcontractors, for Quality-related aspects

• Provide a support to other functions for the use of the quality methodologies and tools

• Monitor opening, management, and the close-out of non-conformities according to the procedure approved within GE Steam Power. Check proper corrections and corrective actions as needed

• Provide support for the resolution and communication related to non-conformities which have been raised by the Client.

• Periodically audit the GE subcontractors

• Organize the inspections and tests schedule

• Check all measuring devices used at site are listed, calibrated, and associated records are maintained and accessible

• Monitor subcontractors adherence to the inspections and tests plans and procedures. Check that inspections and tests results are documented according to the relevant standards

• Organize inspections and tests results approval by relevant specialists, and ensure that appropriate corrections are triggered where necessary

• Ensure overall site welding quality and welders performance meets quality requirements

• Perform internal quality assessment as per the roadmap

• Set the requirements for the on-time delivery of the Site Work Conformance Files (SWCF) by subcontractors, and ensure proper verification by relevant specialist, handling and archiving in accordance with the work instruction

• Monitor the completeness and correctness of the Site Work Conformance File (SWCF)

• Organize the distribution of the Site Work Conformance Files (SWCF) to the Customer as per contractual requirements

• Prepare the inputs for the quality management review

• Establish the quality KPI for the site activities

• Prepare the quality inputs for the weekly / monthly meetings with the project team

• Where and when necessary, propose improvement to the processes with the goal to increase quality at site

• As per GE Spirit and the Letter applicable to all Employees, stop the work if quality or safety is at risk

Experience & behoviors

• Engineering degree

• 5 year of experience in similar role

• Leadership, managerial and communication skills

• Rigorous,Tenacious, Ethical, Effective, Enthusiastic

Education & training

• Engineering or university degree in quality management, mechanical or electrical

• Qualification in welding and non-destructive tests

• ISO 9001 GE Steam Power internal auditor qualification

• Experience in welding

• Experience in corrosion protection (painting, galvanizing)

• Experience in electrical systems

• Power plant technical knowledge

• Fluent speaking and writing English
