Job Description Summary

Responsible for Bank relations on trade finance and for primary relationship between corporate Treasury and GE business units, as well as across Treasury functional teams.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Internal interface with business, Compliance, legal, billing and externally with Banks, Surety Broker

  • Strategic management of the Trade portfolio, implementing the Strategy set by HQ.

  • Trade expertise to work closely with GE businesses and their customers on negotiation of instrument text and structuring of Trade instruments to mitigate Risk and pricing;

  • Management and oversight of the day-to-day issuance, amendment and closure of Bank Guarantees, Surety Bonds & Standby Letters of Credit

  • Ability to communicate and clearly articulate Trade Finance strategy internally to Senior Treasury, Business management, and externally to GE banking partners and Surety Broker

  • Lead quarterly Contingent Liability Bank reconciliation

  • Lead local lines closure

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes through digitization and process improvement.

  • Assist with trade Finance system administration ALOC, Bank and Business user profile set-ups, and creation of new business and Bank silos. Maintain ownership for Business verticals and hierarchy, Business Delegations of Authority, UAT for systems deployment.

  • Align, where needed, on Bank Credit renewals; new issuances, amendments and monthly reporting consolidation ensuring sound operating processes.

  • Training on Trade Finance digital tool to business and banks, brokers

  • Training to Business on Trade Finance high risk management

  • Assist where needed on BD activities

  • Perform presentations /reports ad-hoc for-Management review and Businesses when needed.

  • Maintain and update when needed detailed SOPs for all processes (i.e., Bank Guaranty requests, Business Continuity Process, Fee Payments to Banks and charge back to Businesses, pending issuance)

  • Flexibility to provide back up support for all other Trade Finance team members

  • Flexibility to do any other task which is necessary for Trade Finance Department

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business administration, finance, accounting, or economics

  • Previous experience in Trade Finance is a plus

  • Must be fluent in English, Spanish, German or any other language is a plus

  • Knowledge of Smartsheet, Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word is a pllus

  • Experience working with Global Businesses and with external Bank, Broker focus.

  • Ability to create and deliver business presentations and communicate effectively to Business Leaders- Strong PowerPoint Skills

  • Confidence / Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions

  • Strong analytic skills, excellent in quantitative analysis
