Job Description Summary
The Director, IT Program Management Office (PMO) owns the overall ERP department program management process, methodology, schedules, budget and manages the team of Project Managers dedicated to the functional execution of a complex project portfolio driving to improve overall business efficiency and consolidate into one SAP strategic ERP the $4,5B businesses composed by GE Grid Solutions and GE Hybrids.
This role is critical in creating and updating program and project management processes for the global ERP organization, based on best-in-class methodology. The PMO team manages and prioritizes the project stream, working with internal customers to determine project definition and business requirements. Provides budget analysis, resource allocation and coordination of project activities across functional areas within the organization. Assigns and monitors work of technical personnel, ensuring that project steps are in alignment with business objectives, on-time and within budget. Monitors reliability and any internal issues that appear as a result of the project.
Job Description
Reviews current program and project management processes, identifies areas for improvement, creates templates and documents processes and sets global framework for ERP project management for the organization
Documents and trains the broader ERP organization on the modern project management practices and methodologies, acts as a consultant for the business analysts, and application development team on project recommendations on an ongoing basis
Manages a team of direct and in-direct project managers focused on large, cross-functional projects for the broader ERP organization
Leads core project teams for large scale projects or programs, kicks off programs/projects, establishes program scope, schedules, budgets and facilitates meetings where needed
Identifies clear deliverables and goals for large programs that support the business, recommends areas for improvement or ways to optimize programs using knowledge of program management practices
Manages major risks and issues related to programs, setup effective quality assurance and creates effective contingency plans and escalates issues as needed
Managing both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects
Drives the core project teams to meet or exceed project targets
Establishes a resource planning and capacity management process and aligns resources across the global IT organization for key programs
Establishes a process for prioritizing and managing projects
Responsible of communication to all stakeholders
Acts as a member of the IT leadership team, reporting out on master schedule of programs, status and budget
Experience -
Essential:
Minimum of 10 years designing, developing, and implementing programs for an IT organization
Minimum of 5 years managing a team of project managers
Implementing new program and project methodology, setting processes, training, and documenting the new program methodology
Conducting needs analysis and evaluations to anticipate and respond to the needs of the business
SAP ERP and Broad Business Applications Knowledge (CRM, PLM, etc)
Desirable:
Delivering international programs
Merger & Acquisition Experience
Applying working knowledge of common business processes
Education -
Essential:
- Master degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
Desirable:
Advanced degree in business, or other related field
PMP, PRINCE2 or other project management certification
