Job Description

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic planning process for one or more GE Digital business units

  • Perform strategic analyses and scenario planning to understand market trends and anticipate disruptions

  • Analyze markets and ensure GE Digital’s strategic alignment with customer challenges and opportunities

  • Define and prioritize key strategic initiatives

  • Develop and advance Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) game plan to accelerate GE Digital’s strategy.

  • Cultivate ecosystem relationships and develop a pipeline of strategic partner and acquisition opportunities.

  • Perform due diligence on the most attractive and actionable targets. Develop acquisition models, assess alternative transaction structures and help negotiate key deal terms.

  • Work with GE’s Corporate Business Development team to develop Senior Leadership and Board presentations and to secure deal approvals.

  • The Senior Director, Strategy and Business Development will report to the Chief Strategy Officer and will partner with leaders across GE Digital’s Business Units, Finance and Legal teams as well as GE’s Corporate Business Development team.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of experience in Strategy and Business Development roles, including M&A experience (investment banking, private equity and/or corporate M&A).

  • Analytical, methodical and rigorous approach. Ability to problem-solve complex business issues, perform research and analyses, apply business judgment and financial acumen, and synthesize conclusions into a value-maximizing business strategy.

  • Proven ability to lead virtual teams, manage projects and deliver results on time in a matrixed environment. Strong customer orientation and collaborative mindset. Comfortable acting as an individual contributor and as leader of a large virtual team (Player/Coach)

  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to present findings and recommendations in concise, easy-to-understand terms and to rally stakeholders around a common vision.

  • Executive presence and ability to build trust and influence senior leaders to drive change.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, business or related field.

Ideal candidate will also have the following additional qualifications:

  • Industry experience in the technology and Energy industries, as well as B2B software and particularly and SaaS and Cloud business models.

  • MBA degree

Expected travel: approximately 25% on average

Desired Location: Boston, Seattle, or Bay Area preferred. Remote option as well.

The salary range for this position is $180,000 to $271,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, education and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation. Available benefits include health, medical, vision, 401K and paid leave.
