Job Description

The Finance DT Transformation leader is an Executive level role that will define, coordinate & deliver a GE Company level Finance transformation through partnerships within/across Businesses & Corporate functions via 1) operating visibility, 2) focus on cash & 3) unleash Finance potential/upskill, coordinated across our function, by defining, driving & empowering our pillar leaders & platforms to deliver in a consistent manner.

GE is amid a significant and public transformation of its portfolio, leadership, operations, and culture. One of the top priorities within this transformation is creating more operating rigor, visibility & accountability. This priority, includes evolving the finance function, increasing focus on lean monthly close, operating P&L, visibility to performance, specially cash and upskilling the entire Finance function, delivering a full cycle transformation while eliminating waste to drive a leaner and more effective organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Establish vision and drive strategy to support finance transformation for GE by driving a lean mindset to run finance and supporting operational processes.

  • Be a catalyst and partner to help the finance function envision the art-of-the-possible leveraging contemporary tools and capabilities, outline automation & waste elimination work.

  • Lead the Finance Transformation across DT, responsible for supporting critical program objectives, status updates, key decisions & senior leadership communications.

  • Partner with businesses and Corporate to support the function to drive the various transformation initiatives and repositioning finance to win, increase awareness, aptitude & skills across functions

  • Ensure continued operational stability and compliance given the sensitive nature of finance cycles.

  • Lead a matrixed team of professionals to drive various outcomes, ability to understand the core functional requirements and deliver the outcome in a way that scales across all businesses.

  • Build & maintain strategic relationships with finance leaders across the GE business units, Corporate, IT & Finance leaders that supports business growth & aligns to GE's simplification and transformation strategies.

  • Establish and foster a work culture at all levels that is positive, collaborative, respectful, innovative, dynamic, with high integrity, and capable of driving positive change over sustained periods of time

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, Finance, or other technical related fields with a minimum 12 years of relevant work experience (OR a High School diploma / GED with a minimum 16 years of relevant work experience)

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership in large scale, complex & distributed Transformations (ideally Finance), to support critical business outcomes

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in lean, process or product management, with the ability to outline solutions that are operational robust and scalable

Desired Characteristics:

  • Good understanding of the finance processes and the various supporting functions

  • Good understanding of Finance DT Architecture and the key transactional platforms

  • Proven ability to handle scale, change agenda, pace and overall complexity.

  • Superior business acumen: ability to build strong relationships and trust with company leadership and business process owners.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish operational performance metrics and drive continuous efficiencies and improvements for systems, processes, and resources activities

  • Dynamic leader & strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various stakeholders

  • Lean Process orientation: Passion to help improve operations continuously.

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills; ability to take large volumes of complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner; uses data and a cogent problem-solving methodology in decision making and impact assessment.

  • Capability to work with a team in a fast-paced environment to meet strict deadlines while managing multiple priorities.

  • Steps forward to address difficult issues and guide others toward the accomplishment of identified, meaningful goals.

  • Initiates, supports and manages change within the organization, taking steps to remove barriers or to accelerate its pace.

  • Ability to quickly assimilate relevant information in unfamiliar situations.

  • Excellent listening, verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
