Job Description Summary
Engineering associated with the New Product Introduction (NPI) of power supplies, control panels, and other aviation electronic products for civil and defense applications. Responsible supporting NPI and design for manufacture, as well as establishing manufacturing processes, documentation and equipment for new products. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of processes, procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead New Product Introductions for manufacturing engineering
Define new or modify existing production process including tooling and equipment for manufacturing electronic assemblies and products. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
Utilizes their experience and expertise to ensure Design for Manufacture is considered in NPI process.
Reviews and gives feedback on engineering drawings, specification, and bills of materials (BOMs)
Develops and updates work instructions for NPI product and related manufacturing process documentation (CAD and Word formats).
Supports Tollgate review process, Manufacturing Readiness (MRL) reviews, and Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs)
Support assembly equipment purchases through installation
Conduct cost / benefit analysis for changes to manufacturing processes and / or equipment
Assist cross-functional team of Production Supervisors, Quality Engineers, and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems through a drive to root cause and permanent corrective action
Identify and reduce product quality issues caused by process variation
Translate technical processes and methods to train and empower production employees in the manufacturing techniques required for greatest yield effectiveness & equipment capability
Utilize lean-manufacturing principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs and increase capacity
Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Requires 20% travel to satellite facility in FL to assist in transition of productions between locations.
For roles outside of the USA- This role requires advanced experience in the Manufacturing & Production Process and Equipment. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a strong preference towards Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials from an accredited university or college
Direct experience with electronic manufacturing processes or strong education background with aptitude and desire to learn from experienced personnel
Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes
Knowledge of ISO/AS9100 quality procedures
