Role Summary:

The GE Transportation Commercial Leadership Program (CLP) is a world-class program for developing entry-level talent into future commercial leaders through challenging rotational assignments, rigorous training curriculum, business critical projects, and exposure to senior leadership.

Essential Responsibilities:

CLP prepares its members for off-program placement in challenging commercial roles by providing the opportunity to learn about GE Transportation’s customers and products, developing key sales and marketing competencies, while also making significant contributions to the business. GE Transportation’s CLP is a two-year program providing real work experience in unique and developmental rotations within the commercial functions (internal and external technical sales, product development, marketing, commercial operations and project management). Program members are exposed to various sub-businesses, products/solutions, customers, projects, and leaders to foster the highly technical and cross-functional skillset required for a commercial career at GE Transportation. Program participants strengthen their commercial, business, and leadership skills by completing an intensive curriculum of classroom, hands-on, and online training.

  • Engineering degree or equivalent, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Software, Systems, or Equivalent Engineering. Business/Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Majors with a demonstrated aptitude for technical and software sales will also be considered.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale.

  • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Desired Characteristics:

  • Internship, co-op, or full-time work experience in a relevant position / industry

  • MBA (Master of Business Administration)

  • Specific interest in a commercial career in the Rail/Mining/Transportation industry

  • Ability to understand highly technical products, systems, and solutions to thoughtfully develop winning commercial strategies

  • Strong communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal)

  • Self-starter: motivated, action-oriented, proactive, competitive, and hungry to win

  • Willingness to learn, grow, and adapt

  • Geographic mobility - Relevant work permit or work authorization required
