The Application & Dev Ops Engineer will work with IT and business staff to make sure our systems perform reliably at peak performance. Responsibilities include monitoring, troubleshooting and enhancing business applications. Requires broad technical knowledge, effective interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Relies on experience and judgment to resolve complex problems.

Job Description


  • Work as part of the IT Applications Support team to maintain and expand the applications portfolio.

  • Ownership of support and maintenance for key applications

  • Maintain application health through capacity monitoring and planning

  • Identify and resolve application issues

  • Drive automation using scheduling and deployment tools

  • Enforce established programming standards, including naming conventions, formatting, and program structure. May participate in development of standards.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation


  • College degree in a Technical specialty (Computer Information Systems preferred).

  • 5+ years’ experience in an IT role, supporting industry standard on-premise and SaaS applications.

  • Knowledge of industry standard on-premise and SaaS applications (ex. SalesForce)

  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting ability

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Knowledge of Windows enterprise environment.


  • Experience developing and supporting applications in a Windows environment

  • Ability to develop scripts in Powershell and Python

  • Experience with MS-SQL Server

  • Experience with automated deployments (Jenkins preferred)

  • Experience with job scheduling applications (JAMS preferred)

  • Practical expertise across client/server, Web and data warehouse platforms.

  • Ability to work productively, collaboratively, and communicate effectively with people at all levels.

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Experience with insurance applications (Guidewire preferred)

  • Experience supporting Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence platforms (ex. SSIS, Informatica, Qlikview)

  • Knowledge of Cloud environments (Azure preferred), linux environments, DevOps principles
