GE is globally recognized for designing, manufacturing and delivering customized HVDC solutions for utilities worldwide. With over 130 years of pioneering experience, GE offers two HVDC technologies, Line Commutated Converters (LCC) and Voltage Source Converters (VSC), to support a broad range of applications and deployable in different schemes including overhead line (point to point), back to back, submarine/land cable and offshore.
Every HVDC solution is tailored and designed based on a project-by-project assessment of the customers' individual requirements, whether it's for connecting offshore wind generation, long distance power transmission, or energy trading between independent networks.
As Lead Project Manager you will be based in Germany with main roles and responsibilities around:
Managing the project execution that may include warranty, equipment-only, suites of products, non-turnkey projects.
Deep understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Close cooperation and coordination with internal and external stakeholders in your role as a central contact person
Developing strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.
Leading and motivating a project team, distribution of tasks within the team, taking into account customer specifications and GE Grid Integrations policies.
Lead and supervise activities related to testing and validation of equipment, facility or plant in accordance with the design objectives or specifications for operational use. This includes performance services and performance tests. May lead others directly or indirectly and/or manage subcontractors, with technical specific expertise.
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
Detailed contract review and technical order clarification - with the support of sales and engineering
Risk management and claim management with regard to order and process-related disturbances
Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable (Master / Dipl.)
Strong professional experience in project management or project execution as well as professional leadership of international project teams
Good knowledge of electrical systems - HVDC technologies is a plus
Very good communication skills, strong customer orientation as well as structured working methods and ability to work in a team
Intercultural competence and consistent pursuit of set goals as well as assertiveness
Willingness to travel on business
Fluent in German and English
Certification / further training as a Project Manager / PMP is an advantage
