General Electric Staff Software Engineer in Bengaluru, India

Job Description Summary

As a staff software engineer, you will be responsible for design and implementation of one or more application modules, subsystems or services. In addition, you will drive activities to improve software quality and development methodologies. In this role, you will be part of LCS Platforms team focusing on advanced technology developments for Edge / Cloud Solutions for LCS Digital product portfolio.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product manager and architect to understand requirements and detail the user stories

  • Design of software service or application in alignment with architecture vision.

  • Own and present technical design to different stakeholders, architects etc.

  • Attention to details, ensure the non-functional and security requirements are considered as part of design, implementation and test

  • Identify, plan and mitigate technology risks by conducting hackathons, POCs etc.

  • With a platform mindset, ensure the design and implementation results in a reusable software asset

  • Lead the agile scrum team, participate in the software development covering full technology stack delivering features independently

  • Bring rigor in software development, follow BDD first approach

  • Coach and mentor junior engineers

  • Strong Debugging and Troubleshooting Expertise

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering disciplines

  • A minimum of 12 years of professional experience in software development

  • A minimum of 8 years of hands on experience in software development covering full stack (JAVA, Spring, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, NO-SQL, ScyllaDB/CosmosDB, Apache Kafka,Redis, Hazelcast)

  • Experience with OpenStack technologies, deployment and configuration

  • Strong understanding of Data streaming in OLTP use cases

  • Experience with Azure cloud migration of applications and related technologies

Desirable skills

  • Azure AZ303/AZ304 certification or its equivalent is desirable

  • Experience in Healthcare domain would be a plus

  • HL7 Domain expertise is desirable
