General Electric Staff Lifecycle Operations Engineer in Bengaluru, India

Job Description Summary

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring reliability of digital solutions deployed on Edison platform during the stages of onboarding, installation and maintenance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams & respective vendors to produce high-quality digital solutions running on Edison platform that meet business requirements based on defined outcomes.

Job Description

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with business team to creatively identify / evaluate / implement / improve technologies and processes and arrive at mutual, cost effective solutions utilizing Lean and Agile principles.

  • Lead the development of winnable strategies that creatively use resources to anticipate and solve problems, resulting in innovative solutions for the business using alternatives beyond the obvious.

  • Drive the evolution of site reliability engineering for Edison Platform by delivering products that can enable monitoring, telemetry, AI/ML Oops and to enable data driven decisions with speed and agility.

  • Partner will Edison Platform Engineering organizations to streamline DevOps/GITOps practices and bring consistency to bring operational efficiencies.

  • Guide & Govern Edison Platform policies & controls while adopting digital solution during every phase of product development lifecycle.

  • Identify & develop all applicable SOPs required to have Digital Services organization to perform basic triage on Edison Platform

  • Identify & automate manual SOPs to promote operational excellence

  • Operate & assure SLA/SLOs given on Edison Platform Consumers

  • Participate in 24x7 on-call SRE support model driven by planned shift schedules

  • Ensure stability of Edison Platform operations through obsolescence planning, patching compliance, and asset maintenance management.

  • Maintain documentation on all systems, installations, and configurations.

  • Initiate and coordinate outsourced supplier efforts.

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

  • 10+ Years of experience

  • Primary skills: Python, Kubernetes, Dockers, Linux and expertise on DevOps Tools like Jenkins, Git/hub/lab, Terraform, Ansible

  • Knowledge on AWS/Azure fundamentals, preferred industry recognized certifications on AWS/Azure, GitOps/DevOps

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to lead & delivery end-end implementation & maintenance of DevOps/GitOps solutions for a product deployed in a single/multi-tenancy mode

  • Knowledge of current business function and information technologies

  • Advanced technical foundation in infrastructure technologies
