Job Description Summary
Staff Engineer - Repair Development role is focused on leading repair introduction projects, expertise in repair processes and their impact to component form, fit and function on specified engine/module/hardware. This person will develop the technical approach for the repair method, repair equipment, engine impacts, and alternatives through effective communication with global engineering resources within predefined schedule. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
In addition, you will interface with organizations such as the Engineering Departments (Design, PSE, Analytics, MAE and MPED, etc.,), MRO shops, Digital Services Solutions (DSS), CSA Operations, Aviation Operations Center (AOC), Customer & Product Support Organization (C&PSO).
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Develops repair and inspection technologies, process qualification, industrialization.
Manages and achieves multiple business program targets through repair implementation at MRO shops.
Collaborates with globally and functionally diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve product excellence.
Develops specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
Strategically drives continuous improvement in standard work and engineering processes strategy to ensure vitality and to reduce cost, time, and error frequency.
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Leads projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Applies lean principles to improve process efficiency by continuous improvement.

Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelors / Masters in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent specialization with strong academic track record.
Minimum of 9 years of experience in Aviation Engines or Turbo machinery Repair, Product support Engineering (PSE), and / or Design activities
Expertise in aviation regulatory compliance requirements
Strong engineering problem solving capabilities
Strong project management skills including cross-functional coordination of activities
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both internally and externally
Ability and willingness to travel as required
